Professional Liability (Errors and Omissions)
This is coverage specifically tailored for a business that is sued by a client for professional negligence in some form or perceived act. It is called “medical malpractice” in the medical professions. It differs from a general liability policy in that it only defends a professional work complaint, covering nothing else.
When triggered, it covers the legal defense of a claim and any payout, presuming of course that the coverage amount bought covers the amount of the judgement. This is an area that JWA can advise on, giving a benchmark to similar businesses and the number and amounts of judgments in their field.
